Louis thanks fans after Twitter war with Zayn

Despite claiming they would stay “friends for life”, ex-One Direction star Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson had some heated words for each other over Twitter this week.

Now, Louis has taken to Twitter yet again to thank the band’s fans for their support during what seemed to be a very public spat between the formerly close pals.

Our fans support really has been a different class ! Huge love to you guys !!

It all started when producer Naughty Boy (who has been working with Zayn on his solo material) shared an image of himself and the singer in the studio. Louis seemed to take issue with the picture, tweeting a jab at the filter Naughty Boy had used to distort the image.

Zayn, then waded into the battle with his own reply for Louis, despite having stayed mostly silent on social media since his controversial exit from the band.

Louis and Naughty Boy (real name Shahid Khan) continued to duke it out over Twitter afterwards, with the producer attacking Louis’ singing abilities and Louis accusing him of “riding on the back of someone else’s career”.

It’s not the first time the two have confronted each other on Twitter, either. Shortly after Zayn went public about his decision to leave One Direction, Louis went after Khan for retweeting a video that seemed to imply he had ‘saved’ Zayn’.

“You’re so inconsiderate pal, seriously how f***ing old are you?” he tweeted at the producer.
