Julie and Blake were happily married to each other for 41 years, until he sadly passed away in 2010.
It’s a rare thing to see in Hollywood, but as Julie revealed to Good Morning Britain, theirs was a real “love story”.
“Success in our marriage was to take it one day at a time and so, lo and behold, 41 years later there we still were.”
The two were married in the garden of Julie’s home in Beverly Hills on November 12, 1969, shortly after making their first film Darling Lili together – which Blake directed and Julie starred in.
They would go on to partner on many more creative projects, including Victor Victoria, S.O.B and The Pink Panther Strikes Again.
Blake passed away at age 88 in December 2010, and Julie has revealed she is still “dealing” with his death.
“There are days when it’s perfectly wonderful and I am myself and then it’s suddenly—sock you in the middle of your gut and you think, ‘Ah God, I wish he were here,'” she told Good Morning Britain.
“But he is in a way, I think one carries that love always.”
